Ardoyne
The
Church of Holy Cross, Ardoyne is situated at the junction of the
Crumlin and Woodvale Roads.
Directions to the church from the direction M1 and M2 are set
out below:From the M1: Follow the Westlink in the direction of
the M2, keep to the left hand lane and leave at the Clifton
Street turn off. At the junction of the exit slip road turn left on to Clifton
Street. Keep in the left hand lane on Clifton Street as there is a
roundabout situated approximately 100m from the Westlink exit.
Travel through the roundabout as if driving straight on (equivalent to the
second left ), this leads to the
Crumlin Road. While driving along this road you will come across
some historical landmarks of history/political interest in Northern
Ireland.
Firstly, on your right, you will see a large black glass cube, this is the Mater Hospital.
Immediately after the Mater hospital, again on your right, is the old
Crumlin Road Jail and opposite the jail the Crumlin Road Court House
(the jail is no longer used and the Courthouse is ongoing extensive
renovations to transform it into office accommodation). After passing the former jail and courthouse you will be able to see Holy Cross church sitting,
in the distance, on the hill at the top of the Crumlin
Road. Continue traveling along the Crumlin Road up the hill to the
church.
From the M2: Follow the signs for the M1 and
Westlink.
Keep to the left hand lane on the Westlink as the Clifton Street exit, the first exit on the left on the
Westlink,
is only 400m from the beginning of the Westlink. At the
Clifton Street exit turn right and follow the instructions above
for the M1 from Clifton Street after that.
